Rudder System Components

The marine steering system is a critical component of a ship's maneuvering system, responsible for controlling the vessel's direction and turning. Its main components include the rudder blade, rudder stock, steering gear, rudder bearing, and connecting devices. The rudder blade generates turning force through water flow, while the rudder stock transmits the power from the steering gear to the rudder blade, enabling the ship to change course. The steering gear, as the power source, provides sufficient torque to drive the rudder blade, and the rudder bearing supports the rudder stock to ensure smooth operation.

SEAMAC's spade-type rudder, flap-type rudder, twisting reaction rudder and nozzle rudder can meet the requirement of speed and maneuverability of the vessels. The maximum weight of the rudder blade can reach to 8oT. The maximum working torque of electric rotary vane type hydraulic steering gear of NGC reaches to 1600KN.m.
